    Question about Spritz cookies

I'm wondering if the batter for Spritz cookies can be rolled out and cut out with cookie cutters.
I'm thinking not but maybe someone knows if it's possible.

    Thanks.

No, batter is lighter than a roll out.

I don't want to be disagreeable Brig, but I disagree. Spritz cookies are very high in fat, which doesn't lend itself well to rolling out. It would be a big smeary mess with a lot of swearing going on by the baker....

I would not use cookie cutters for spritz cookies. The dough is much to soft and should be used with a pastry bag. Using differend decoratings tips you can spritz the dough in all kinds of shapes and forms. Enjoy!

Really, spritz cookies are so pretty! Why choose to roll them out anyway?

Spritz cookie batter is meant to go through a press. It is too soft to roll out and would be a sticky mess! You can often find cookie press's at thrift stores if you are in need of a one.
