    Chocolate Buttercream icing

    Instead of using the butter flavoring could you use butter flavor crisco? If anyone knows Please let me know, Thanks!

    Not sure which recipe you're referring to, but since you refer to 'flavoring' rather than butter, I'd say no. Personally, I avoid using shortening in frosting, it's just too heavy and greasy for my taste.

    The recipe requires Crisco, water, almond or vanilla flavoring, butter flavoring and confectioners' sugar. So I was wondering since it involves both butter flavor and crisco if the butter flavored crisco could be used as a substitute.
