    Banana Cream Merinque Pie

I am making a Banana Cream Merinque Pie. I am using the "instant" pudding. Can I do the Merinque if it is "instant" pudding versus the "cooked" pudding? Most of the recipes use the cooked pudding or you make your own. I was concerned if I put Merinque on top & put it in the oven, that it would ruin the pudding. Please advise! Thank YOu!
