    Anise vs. Anisette

Anise, Pimpinella anisum , is a slow-growing annual herb of the parsley family.

Anise contains a liquorice-like component which is sweet and very aromatic.

Anisette (also anis) is an anise-flavored liqueur mainly consumed in France, Italy, Portugal, Mexico, and Spain. It is sweeter than most anise-flavored liqueurs (such as pastis), and also has a lower alcohol content (typically 25% by volume, versus 40%).

The journey of a 1,000 miles begins with a single step.
