Hello,

I am looking for a particular Hot Crab Dip. I have looked
through those on the site and elsewhere and cannot find
the exact or close recipe. It has been a long time since I
made this dip - a recipe from an old boyfriend's Mom... so
I remember certain things about it but not the specifics:

- contained some sort of alcohol, probably vermouth
- may have contained cream cheese or mayo (many of
those I found do)
- IF it contained cheese it was a white cheese like swiss,
cut into cubes or grated. Definitely not cheddar (or
american!) cheese
- made on the stove, not in the oven
- it was served heated, for example in a fondue pot
- it was not spicy or flavored beyond the crab, creamy
dip and undertones of the vermouth or other alcohol so
the taste was somewhat mild... the alcohol was a key in
it's taste bouquet
- the color was creamy off white/ not colored or with
chopped up pimentos or red peppers or other colored
ingedients

If any of you know this recipe or something pretty similar I
would be so grateful. My sister has asked me for it for an
occasion special to her and I can't believe I am unable to
find it among my recipes. It was one of those recipes
written out on a piece of paper for me and may have even
been this person's own recipe, I don't know.

Thanks for your help! :-)
