here is a recipe for the allergic person, you may have to go to your health food store that carries whole products for vegetarians,hope it works out for you, happy souping.you may want to add some spice to spruce it up a bit, but other than that here's one for you.
Cream of Mushroom Soup
(Milk-free, Egg-free, Wheat-free, Peanut-free, Soy-free, Nut-free)
¼ cup onion
1 tsp celery, minced
Dash of garlic salt
3 tbsp milk-free, soy-free margarine
4 oz mushrooms, chopped
2 tbsp rice flour
1 cup chicken broth
¾ tsp salt
1 ½ cups non-dairy creamer (milk-free)
In a medium saucepan, sauté onion, celery and garlic salt in margarine until soft. Add mushrooms and brown. Blend in flour, stirring continuously over low heat until mixed. Add broth, salt, and non-dairy creamer. Bring to a boil slowly and simmer for 2 minutes. Stir continuously.
Note: Rice flour can be replaced with 2 tbsp barley or 2 tbsp wheat flour.
