How much does a chicken breast weigh?

I meant to buy some chicken breasts and got chicken breast tenders instead. I'm making enchiladas, so the pieces being cut up don't matter. However, the recipe calls for "4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves" and I don't know how much that is.

How much should I assume a chicken breast weighs?

Are four chicken breast halves equal to two chicken breasts? Intuition says they are.

    Thank you.

yes 4 chicken breasts are equal to tow breasts, the weight that your asking about varies as when they package them they try to keep the same size but not always the case.look on your package that you've bought and it will tell you the wieght of it, divide by 4 and you'll get a rough estimate on how much each weigh, and whilst at the butcher counter ask your butcher if he would explain the weight to you, they can be more than helpsful, and get you the poundage that you need for the recipe.
    hope this helps

How much does a chicken breast weigh?

The butcher at Stater Bros. a grocery store in Beaumont, California said that a breast weighs about 8 ounces. (He had trouble understanding my quesion.)

So "4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves" would be about 2 pounds (32 ounces) of chicken breast tenders meat.

    Does this sound about right?

4 halves would be 1 pound (16 ounces) of meat. Sorry about the bad math.
