    substitutions

    I forgot how much vinegar to add to whole milk to make a substitute for buttermilk...can someone help me out?

    substitutions

    hi hyltonginger.
    you add 1 tablespoon of vinegar, or lemon juice, both are okay as they are acids,which curdles the milk to sour it.i prefeer to use lemon juice as it gives just a tad of flavor to the cake or recipe.you don't taste the lemon juice but it does impart that something that you can't put your finger on.
