    Cumin

I've recently underwent treament for head and neck cancer. I know can not eat spicey foods including black pepper without setting my mouth on fire. However I've been craving chili and know that chili wouldn't be chili without cumin. Does cumin carry any heat to it?

    Cumin

I just put some on my hand and there doesn't appear to be any heat from it.

    Cumin

Cumin adds a smokiness to chili, but not a heat.
I've never had a problem with anything being spicy hot when I add cumin.
Hope this helps, and good luck with your recovery!
