    cooking oil

    does veg oil pick up the taste of the plastiv containers it is sold in? My home made mayo tastes of this or the canola oil i used,

    cooking oil

    your taste might be that the canola oil is a little on the heavy side for that, i would use an all vegetable oil. when making homemade mayo make sure that all your ingredients are at room tempeture, they will emulse quicker and easier,the more the ingredients are at room temp the less oil and faster the emulsification is.I would use a lighter oil.
