    new cook/new oven/

    Happy New Years,
I recently bought new dual oven and used bottom one for first time to cook our New years turkey. It was 10 lbs. In 3 1/2 hrs at 325 deg.(breast up) breast was well done however whole bottom halve was still very "rare". I had thermometer in breast, which I know now isnt right, but shouldn't turkey have been cooked in that time. I let sit 20 min after removing to find out it wasn't.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank-you

Sounds like the turkey was too high up in the oven - either that or the bottom element may be off. It should have been cooked in 3 1/2 hours. Buy an oven thermometer and place it in the center of the oven to check and see if your oven needs calibration.
