You need a griddle, harden the eggs in a oiled non stick pan (just the bottoms, to keep nice round form ) then leave on griddle (on LOW LOW heat, better yet if it's a larger griddle turn one side on and leave one off ) until the whites are solid.

Or, just low heat in a non stick pan. lol

    A tip from Jacques Pepin:

Add a teaspoon or two of water to the pan after the egg starts to cook and then put a lid on the pan. The steam from the water cooks the top of the egg without overcooking the bottom.

The suggestion of some water and covering the pan is excellent.

I think sunny-side up eggs were invented originally when the eggs were cooked with bacon. The fat was spooned over the tops of the eggs, which cooked the jelly-like white on top and made a film over the yolks.

Oh, and don't forget that eggs always keep cooking for a few minutes after you remove them from the pan. So remove them when they look "almost done."

I have made them many, many times with the bacon grease spooned over the top. It certainly coks them quickly. I like the idea of using the water, though. Less calories and not so greasy. I always tried to drain the egss on paper towels and would end up breaking the yolk after all.
