    CANNING HOT TOMATOES

Store the jars in a cool, dark place. If day light reaches the tomatoes for long periods of storage time, they sometimes bleach white or to a lighter color, and some of the vitamin C content may be lost. (This discoloration doesn't affect the safety; only the palatability and nutrition content.)

So store them in the boxes the jars were purchased in, or other boxes, or behind a light proof curtain for best results.

Jars can be stored at room temperature, but the cooler they can be stored above freezing, the long they will last.

You can start using them right away, and they generally keep without noticable changes for 1-3 years. I usually use mine in 1-2 years.
