Need Mince Beef recipe

Hi everyone. I'm hoping someone can help me.

I had a friend a LONG time ago who made a ground beef "soup". It contained potatos, carrots , peas, and ground beef in almost an au jus sauce.

Does anyone have a recipe for this or know what I am talking about?

I loved the soup but I don't have any idea how to make it and I lost contact with my friend.

What a coincidence!!!! Our local newspaper supplement had this recipe. Hope it meets your needs.


Burger Soup
8 Servings
Prep time 15 min.
Cooking time 1 hour

1 pound ground beef
1 finely chopped small onion
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 (15 ounce can) tomato sauce
1 (14 1/2ounce can)undrained
diced tomatoes
4 cups water
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Tablespoon Worchestershire Sauce
1 bay leaf
1 cup sliced (or diced) carrots
1 (11 ounce can) rinsed and drained corn
1/3 cup rice

In a large non-stick pot, cook the ground beef, onion and garlic for six minutes or until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is softened, drain. Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water, S&P, Worchester Sauce, bay leaf and carrots. Bring to a boil, Reduce heat and simmer 10 min. Add corn and rice, continue cooking for 30 - 40 minutes or until rice is done and carrots are tender.

If this isn't the right recipe at least it's a starting point
