A recipe for a snack treat called "Puppy Chow" (so named because apparently it looks like puppy chow) contains chocolate, which is dangerous and potentially lethal to dogs. The person who posted the recipe does not make it clear that this concoction is for people, NOT for dogs or puppies. Is there anyone I can notify? I feel this recipe needs a warning attached to it.
I just want to note that it's called Puppy Chow I; if you search for it without the "I" at the end you won't find it.
I've cut and pasted it below. I really think it needs a flag or a notice that it's NOT dog food.
PUPPY CHOW I
1 c. chocolate chips
1 stick butter
1/2 c. peanut butter
6-8 c. Rice Chex or Corn Chex
1 1/2-2 c. powdered sugar
Melt first 3 ingredients and pour over cereal. Cool 10-15 minutes. Shake in a grocery size paper bag with the powdered sugar. It looks like Puppy Chow but it's wonderful to nibble!
im sure most pple would know that it is for human consumption and not for dogs. thank you for bringing this to our attention.
