I forgot to mention duh me...another fun thing to do is have your friends each bring a low carb appetizer, that way youre tasting ea others dishes and they feel like theyve contributed to the event. my friends love doing this when we get together for our bunko nights and I love the idea. itz like getting a surprise treats for me. also if you do want to host and provide yourself sometimes themes work. for an example do your friends like mexican, italian, etc and then go from there. if yo need any help let me know. feel free to email me at my addy

I t sounds like you are trying to make 'red beet eggs' as they are called in Lancaster county of PA. If you have any of the beet juice left add it to the container. Did you get the recipe for devil eggs from this web site? i'll search and try to come up with a proper answer for you

My best guess would be to add additional vinegar and half that much sugar, 1 cup : 1/2 cup, until just covered. You want the eggs to turn red and the beets and eggs to pickle.
    Good Luck

My son will be coming to brandenberg in a few months. Are you located there?

here is the recipe that I submitted..note theres another recipe on the bottom i posted incase you need to make more..

    DEVILED EGGS

    6 eggs
    1/4 tsp prepared mustard
    1/8 tsp dill
    3 tbsp mayonnaise
    1/8 tsp white pepper
    1/8 tsp paprika
    1/8 tsp salt
    1-2 tsp milk

Place eggs in a pan and cover with water. Boil eggs for about 4 minutes.
Remove from heat and place in ice water. Let cool down to room temperature.

Peel under cold running water. Slice eggs in half. Place egg whites on a plate or serving tray rinsed and dried.

Mash egg yolks with a fork and add all ingredients except for paprika.

If desired, you can add more mayonnaise with a little bit of milk (small amounts at a time, as you can always add but not take out or you'll end up boiling another egg or two.. lol..)

Fill each half about a teaspoon and sprinkle with paprika. Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.

Makes about 6 servings. Be creative, top with bay shrimp, anchovies, or add some of your favorite spices.

    Party finger foods?

    Per the English Dictionary

    roulade

    noun

a slice of meat that is rolled up, stuffed, and cooked

(music) An elaborate embellishment of several notes sung to one syllable

Etymology: From roulade, from rouler (to roll), from Old French roler.

Seared Chicken Roulade in Butter Wine Sauce

    1 Butterball Fresh Chicken Breast
2 slices Boar’s Head Black Forest Ham
    10/12 fresh spinach leaves
    1 1/2 cup Stonehaven Chardonnay
    4-5 ounces of butter

Butterfly the chicken breast and pound flat(about 1/4 inch thick).

Season both sides with salt and pepper to taste. Place spinach leaves on top of the chicken.

Top the spinach with the Boar’s Head ham. Roll up the chicken breast and secure with a couple of tooth picks. Bring your All-Clad pan to a med-high heat. Drizzle in about teaspoons of olive oil and sear on all sides.

Add the Stonehaven wine all at once and let chicken simmer in the wine for about 5 min.
Remove the chicken and set aside. Simmer the wine on high heat until reduced by 3/4ths.

Remove the pan from the heat and whisk in the butter one tablespoon at a time until melted.

Return the chicken to the pan to warm through(about one minute).

Serve the chicken immediately and pour sauce over chicken.

The journey of a 1,000 miles begins with a single step.
