Hy im a new member to this forum.any receipe containing chocolate chip or cooking chocolate has become a nitemare for me as i cant find them in my city ......plz help me as i really wana try come receipes of cake.Is there an alternate for them like cocoa powder???an if so wat wil teh quantity be n wil it make a difference to teh receipe ????and how?????????I would really apreciate if u could fine a solution for me!Thnkx
I haven't tried this recipe yet, but maybe it might be an alternative substitute for chocolate chips. Try it~
homemade chocolate
1 cup dry milk
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
2 T. cocoa powder, sifted
1 c. shortening
Combine powdered milk,icing sugar, and cocoa in a bowl, mix thoroughly.
Melt shortening over a low heat, add to cocoa mixture and mix all ingredients
togrther.
Pour into a flat tray, then place in refrigerator to set.

btw lisa (2 T.)cocoa powder is it teaspoon or tablespoon?
1 c. shortening is it cup? just confirming it!!!

2 T. would be 2 tablespoons and 1 c. would be 1 cup. I can't wait to know the outcome:)!
