    Where do I find tapioca?

I've found a good recipe for tart cherry pie which calls for "5 1/2 tbsp. tapioca." People at the grocery store think it calls for tapioca pudding, but I doubt it. Is this tapioca flour or something? Where can I find some?

    Thanks,
    Peter Stephens

    Where do I find tapioca?

Tapioca is a starchy substance extracted from the root cassava plant and it is available in several forms: granules, flakes, pellets ( pearl tapioca ) and flour or starch. The most popular are tapioca flour ( cassava flour ) and pear tapioca which is mainly for puddings. Pearl tapioca is available in most supermarkets, while other tapiocas are commonly found in natural food stores and Asian markets. I hope it helps.

    Where do I find tapioca?

I find tapioca in the baking aisle, usually on the top shelf by the puddings. It's not a pudding...it comes in a box and could be called pearl tapioca. Hope that helps.
