    Cool Herman rolls

I am using this recipe this morning after a try at starting my own starter. 1 cup of the starter, 1/4 c oil and 1 cup of flour leaves me with a liquid.. what am I not doing?

This is just a guess, but I think that with all starters, like the friendship bread, you have to let the mixture sit on the countertop for a couple of days to a week to let it ferment. Then when it is thick and ready, you use only a cup or so of it and save the rest for the next batch of whatever you are making. Hopefully one of our expert bakers can carlify that.
