Costco has the Kitchen Aid 5 quart mixer for $299 + a $30 mail in discount. Now is the time to buy one if you need a stand up mixer.

No kidding. It is the only thing that stays on my counter top and I really need that space. Amazing toy. Like to see the test kitchen for durability on these things!

But the next time that I have to get a stand mixer, it'll be another brand like Bosch or Globe. The newer larger 6-quart KA stand mixers crap out too prematurely!! The gears are the culprit! From what I've read about them, they are not suitable for kneading dough for bread.

So I will not be looking at KA for another one.

We have had a Kitchenaid 5 1/2 quart professional series for many years. It has never let us down or fallen short for home cooking. Including bread making and meat grinding.
