Hated it then but love it now?

What childhood foods made you want to run screaming from the room that you have actually developed a taste for now? Mine have to be coleslaw and fried or scalloped potatoes...nope, never did get over the egg thing, though!

Geez, I answered this but the message is nowhere in sight...I was lucky that my parents didn't serve this, but I had to make chopped liver from scratch at a former job. Horrific!

Ever have to slice up an entire cow liver, especially after it has been de-frosted? OMG.....

I hated my mom's half moon date cookies, now I love them. Plain old flour cookie dough, cut in circles, a dollop of dates, fold over and crimp the edges with a fork.
A friend makes them now for me. Other chopped fruits will work also.

For years I couldn't eat hot dogs or ring bolanga. I had the flu one time and she was cooking ring bolagna, the smell imprinted in my little brain. LOL. I can eat good quality linked or natural casing hot dogs now.

And I never liked fried taters as a kid. Now I love them. Used to go with a friend to his grandma's farm. For lunch she made us, U guessed it, fried taters and hotdogs everytime. Back in those days, you ate what was put in front of you with no complaint, especially as a guest. She said I was a slow eater and didn't eat much. LOL.

ok......things were tight growing up, Mom saved all the weeks leftover veggies, she would mix them in with those potato buds, and call them circus potatos.....YUCK......nothing like overcooked multimixed tasteless lumps in your instant potatos made from powdered milk..........

I guess we all have terrible childhood memories of nasty food.....but at least we were fed! Somehow, in one way or another...

My mother just about fainted the first time she saw me go for asparagus and broccoli. As a kid it was raw carrots, raw peas, lettuce with a sprinkle of sugar, that's it. Now anything goes except okra. can't stand it.
