    What are you making tonight?

I am heading out to the store to get things for dinner. First stop Captain Bobs for Sea Bass...... crab-meat for risotto, and a local produce place for veggie ideas. So What are you making tonight?

What ever comes out of the pantry. We had freezing rain for 8 hours yesterday. I already fell the day before. Will I ever learn to not mess with mother nature? I will be making oatmeal cookies today. I have 3 batches of perogies to put together. Want to make an oatmeal bread and or a rye bread. Been having cravings for a scotch scone. Sounds like dinner will be late doesn't it!

I am brand spankin' new to Cooks.com Talk Food but am a long time user of the website for recipes. I used to use Allrecipes but am so done with them because of their mean spirited "reviews" to the recipes. I just wondered if there was anybody else out there that feels the same way I do. Instead of reviews they are letting people basically re-write the recipes for the "reviews" and be so hateful to the recipe's author. I've had enough!

Yes. I know what you mean. We have a very positive feedback attitude. We can step on each others toes once in a while but it's all a good learning experience. If I don't like a comment I just ignore it and move on to the next thread. Trust me you will learn tons of stuff here. Welcome!

I was very lucky in that my first time out I happened to come across Cooks.com, I'm not exactly sure how it happened. Maybe because someone had printed off a recipe for me and I remembered the name, who knows? Anyway, although I've tippy-toed into other sites very briefly out of curiousity, THIS is the place I've always returned to and stayed with!

People bashing and site bashing are not allowed here, it's a much better place to be!

Anyway, back to the thread...a couple of days late, but tonight's dinner is my finally lovable meatloaf with roasted potatoes, carrots, and onions lightly drizzled with bacon grease and simply seasoned with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper...perhaps a sprinkle of mixed Italian herbs or herbes de Provence, we'll see.....

Simple and fast--chicken thighs with dijon, cream of chicken soup, black pepper, baked 'til falling apart tender, possibly rice and lima beans to round it out. Not in the mood for fussing around tonight.....
