Pretty interesting. Looks to me like it could be used as a cottage or cream cheese.

The sell a lot of farmers cheese in my area. I see it in the Latin stores, but really more in the Polish deli's. I think the Polish make a sort of coffee cake and use that as a filling, like a cream cheese but not as smooth. It comes in a sort of brick shape or square. It does not have a lot of flavor as far as I can remember. But like I said, it is sold in all the stores around my area.

Polish, Ukrainian, Russian etc. Very popular. To you and me it's just drained cottage cheese. If you go to a deli it may be called dried cottage cheese or farmers cheese. It's sold in a block.

Sounds very much like paneer; might be exactly the same in fact.

Really close. But dried curd or farmer cheese still has the curd showing. It will break in curds not crumble like a feta. It is a bit firmer than paneer. The curd will sometimes have whole cream or butter and a bit of salt added to it for a recipe or to eat as is.

All simple to make for kwik use. Different countries have different types and names for them. I think the parameters come up too narrow when googling farmers' cheese.

I am also inclined to think of cottage cheese as a farmers' cheese.

Really close and quite often used to discribe cottate cheese. The only difference is one more processing part. That's the draining and pressing into a block. Sometimes it's saltier due to added salt at the last.
