Hi,
I am looking for a frosting for sugar cookies that will harden for packaging and has a good flavor. Not like royal icing. The cookies will be for a baby shower as the favors. I will put them in celophane bag.
Thanks, Kay![]()

Fondant or perhaps piping jelly (check your local Michaels craft store)

Hi Kay .... Here is the frosting recipe I use and I often send these cookies to my godchildren across the country. The cookies survive, frosting and all!Sugar Cookie Frosting1 cup powdered sugar, sifted2 teaspoons milk 2 teaspoons light corn syrup1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or any flavorMix all ingredients together until smooth. Add a little more milk or corn syrup if frosting is too thick. After frosting cookies, let them dry for at least 3 hours -- until frosting is hard. I like to put sprinkles on the frosting when it is still wet. The sprinkles stay put and never fall off. I also like to substitute lemon juice for milk and lemon extract for vanilla.
