I like to dip chocolates or make nut-covered chocolate clusters, dip some strawberries and cookies, too. Or some lava cakes, or just plain rich chocolate cakes (use cake flour and make a from-scratch pudding first). Chocolate dipped cupcakes are good, too.

Sometimes I make a sweet yeast-risen roll dough, and use giant marshmallows dipped in melted butter then rolled in a cinnamon sugar mixture as the center of the rolls that I allow to rise fully in large texas-sized muffin tins.

I sometimes use a square of puff pastry and fill the center with strawberry or rasberry filling, then make some cuts in the square, almost as you would a pinwheel, but fold it into a heart shape, then drizzle with pastel pink tinted icing.

Got to say the rose petals dipped in a champagne batter, deep fried, and sprinkled with confectioner's sugar are the most romantic thing I have ever seen, courtesy of Mario Batali, an apparently very romantic man.

First Lady Dolly Madison was fond of serving ice cream at White House socials, so much so that her name has been associated with ice cream ever since, long before it became used as a commercial brand name. But not many know that her personal favorite ice cream flavor was OYSTER!
