our white trash has no peanut butter it is made by taking a cookie sheet with sides or a 9x13 cake pan and lay parchment paper in it & up the side slightly melt 1# white melting chocolate in double boiler and to it most any thing nuts, dried fruit, candied fruit like you use in fruit cake, rasians ,cranberries, currants, chowmain noodles(dry they come in a can in the oriental section of the store)mix it in to the chocolate as much as you want at least 1 cup full of things if you want more go for it if the mixture is loose just pour into prepared pan & spread it out let dry & break into pieces if stiff use spoon & drop small amonuts on paper let dry store in air tight container ........GOOD LUCK....amf1234
Is your grandson ok with almonds or cashews? I quit buying peanut butter a few years ago and now use almond butter or cashew butter whenever peanut butter is called for.
Peanuts are a legume. Grows underground. Nut from trees. Almond butter is the closest substitute. How about Tahini made from sesame seeds.
KarenB I did not know that WOW! This recipe sounds fun. The kids would enjoy making this, and the substitutions sound good also......what a great name for a recipe, lol
