Thread: Searching for lost recipe

    Question Searching for lost recipe

Is this the right place to help me find a recipe from Cook's magazine? Some time within about the last two years, there was an article (recipe included) on making an apple pandowdy. The crust was prepared using a food processor and placed on the apples in a black skillet. The apples were prepared with a bit of maple syrup, and the whole thing was finished in the oven.
I kept the magazine handy because I used the recipe often, but now I can't put my hands on it.
    Can I be helped?

Hi Bob, Welcome to the site. If you type in apple pandowy up in the recipe search box at the top of this page, you will find a couple of recipes. They are all pretty much the same, so I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

Thank you BasilRock! Since I have just this hour joined this exchange, I was not sure that I could get any answer, and I certainly didn't think I'd get one in less than a minute!! As a matter of fact, I have spent the last two days looking at Pandowdy recipes through the search engine here and have seen oodles. But the one I really want has not showed up. I know that these are all pretty much alike, but I guess it's like my "peace and happiness blanket." I DO thank you very much for responding.

Try Americas Test Kitchen or Cook's Country, they are the websites associated with Cooks magazine and will have the recipe you seek...

There is a two week free trial period, and sometimes I've even been able to navigate to some free recipes, possibly under the "feed page" but I can't say for sure, it's been a while...worth checking out though!
