    Snowflake Candies

A Family Christmas favourite. Make them small, they are rich.

This recipe comes from Canadian Living Food Magazine Christmas Cooking 1986. Canadian Living mag. has been around for years. Their recipes have always been exceptional and doable. www.canadianliving.com. The TV show is called Best Recipe Ever.

    Snowflake Candies

Crush the candy canes by placing in a plastic bag and use a heavy pot or hammer to crush them into tiny shards. Don't use your rolling pin because it will dent it. ( voice of experience!)

    1 lb. of white chocolate
    1 1/2 cups flaked coconut
    1/2 cup crushed candy cane
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp almond extract

In a 8 cup casserole, microwave chocolate at medium for 4 to 6 minutes or until melted, stirring at least once partway through.
Stir in the coconut, candy canes, vanilla and almond extract. Drop by small spoonfuls onto waxed paper, let cool. Store in airtight container makes about 5 dozen.
