Thumbs down Another new show....."The Chew"..............Eeeuuuwww!

This is awful. They are all competing to see who can be louder, faster, edgier, funnier. They lost me completely in the first five minutes. And now I hear them say tomorrow's guest is Joy Behar. This is my first post, (I'm even newer than the show), but has anyone else seen it and what do you think? It is on at noon on ABC where I live. Will it last through the end of the week?

Well, I watched about two minutes of it today before changing the channel, if that says anything.....

I thought it might be worth while given all the $$ ABC spent on advertising it, but they really goofed on the cast, IMO. If I don't enjoy watching and listening to people, I am not going to sacrifice my time when there are so many shows I like on other channels. The only reason I am on ABC at that time is because I watched the soaps that used to be on there. I hate to be catty, but while I love Dr. Oz, his daughter is another story! And the dark-haired girl makes me run to the other room. I don't watch it now. I cook more like Rachel Ray, anyway. LOL

I've watched it a few more times since the debut, very few. Maybe it just needs to find its legs, so to speak...still not my cup of tea, though. Guess I've just never been a fan of audience participation type shows, too noisy and downright annoying...

Yup, we had some good threads about this just this past year. Seems the older people like the older shows and the younger ones like the newer ones. The more things change the more they stay the same!!!

I wanted to watch a few more shows of the "Chew" before I made a comment. I was not sure if I would like it or not but started to watch it every day to see what was what. I do not always like eveything that is on the show and I think that sometimes, more than not, they get a little silly for my taste, but I do like it for the most part. They have some very informative segments and I have cooked a few of their recipes and loved them. Got some great decorating tips from Clinton (the silliest of them all) who has great horderves and decorating tips. Also, what I usually do is TVO it and then I can fast fwd through what I am not interested in and concentrate on what I like. I will continue watching because it is not supposed to be a cooking show, it is a entertainment show with cooking segments.

Hi K, Just have to let you know that you missed a very informative show today on the "Chew". It was a little silly at times, but I need a good laugh now and again. But about the show. It was all about "Cheese" and they had someone on this showed how to make the fresh mozzarella, and the "Buaratta that you said you have never heard about. I think you would have found this show very interesting. If you can somehow get to see this episode, I think you might like it. Maybe not the silliness, but the cheese info parts.

I have not watched this show yet mainly because its on at the wrong time of day for me. But the name alone turns me off. It reminds me of the saying, Chew The Fat. Not an appealing image.
