    Peanutbutter Loaf Cake

    2 1/2 sticks butter, softened
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    2/3 c. peanutbutter
    2 c. self-rising flour

Combine butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs and beat well after each addition. Stir in peanutbutter and flour. Spread into two 9x5 greased loaf pans. Spoon equal amounts into each pan. Bake 45 minutes and test for doneness. It is done when there are still soft crumbs clinging to the toothpick. Cool completely before slicing.

You may sprinkle 1/2 c. finely crushed peanuts over the top of the batter before baking if you wish.

    A thrill for peanutbutter lovers!

So.........This means you don't want my recipe for peanut butter surprise chocolate cookies? Equaling a sugar coated replica of Reese's peanut butter cups.
But a loaf sounds reeeeeally goood for PB junkies!

I am going to make this peanutbutter loaf cake tomorrow. And K, you talk about dipping Oreo's in peanutbutter. I had some chocolate marshmallows a while back and I was dipping them in the peanut butter. It was like a soft peanutbutter cup. Oh, so good.

I finally made the peanutbutter loaf cakes today. I made them in 5 small tins instead of the two loaf pans. They came out pretty good. I might have baked them a little too long because they were a little dry. More like a pound cake (which I like). I will make again, but this time I wanted to make the smaller loaves so I could share. Thanks for the recipe it was easy to make.
