K.slink, you can do it too. Instead of two pieces of toast have one and some meat. I know you love bacon. (Who doesn't like bacon?) Instead of a sandwich have a salad with steak. (How can you feel deprived eating steak?). Instead of thick crust pizza have thin with extra vegies and meat. I'm just saying when you want the bread have some meat, it really dose satisfy that craving.

In a years time with walking with my girlfriend twice a week, and watching carbs, I lost 56 pounds. I met my boyfriend, and well, we like to cook together so I have gained 12 back. Getting motivated to excercise is darn hard, especially in a new area. Amazing though how much better you do feel even with little steps twards being healthier.
Yes, its time to exersize. I've made it this far with diet alone, but this next 30 is going to take some effort. I'm thinking Yoga, maybe a few extra trips around the block with the dogs then some swimming to get ready for scuba diving in Hawaii for our Anniversary. I can do it, I can do it. I CAN DO IT!!!

I probably can too, if I could just get over my laziness around here! Perhaps a bomb going off under my recliner would do the trick...

At least that would catapult me into the next street!

Well, 2 birthdays to go; we got back on South Beach early. No simple carbs for two weeks. Done it before; doin' it again! Day 7, and I hit the wall. Want cornbread! No can do, though.... 5 pounds of 'water' gone; feels good. Downward and onward.... No baking in the near future. Just eggs, meat, fish, chicken, a little cheese, and lots of veggies three times a day. In a week we can lighten up a little and have stuff like old fashioned oatmeal, a bit of fruit, a yam; such like that. Woo-hoo!

BTW; guess what whole wheat is when refined? You got it.......

People people people ( oh oh here comes a lecture) It's not the carbs, it's not the fat, the protein, the treats................... it's the Glycemic Index. This is the measurement of speed your body burns what you give it. The slower the better. Ask a diabetic they have been on this diet for years. Oh and I'm not lecturing since I'm in the same boat with the rest of you. Shall we make the new year resolution one more time but actually do it so we have to think harder next year for a new one

It's also the actual calories. They add up. 1500 is better than 3000 any way you look at it. Cut the cals!!!!!!
