They were funny! And such different personalities. I have heard that Bobby Flay would like to run for Mayor of NYC one day. He could probably win!

    i do remember that show1

the only problem for Bobby was Jack was a better cook than Bobby, hence they got rid of him!

thats not to say that Bobby isnt a great cook, but jack wasnt as marketable as a northern guy.

i enjoy watching steven raichlen on pbs. i am a competitor and a real barbeque lover!

i will say that no serious competitor would turn in steven's food, because it would place very low. and that is not because of taste, but because it just isnt real barbeque with a real barbeque tadte!

His recipes and inspirations come from around the world, so I wouldn't expect them to taste strictly of American BBQ.....

I think Steve is a BBQ god. He is very interesting, knows a great deal about the art, and has terrific books.

He runs a course called "Barbecue University" at the Greenbriar Hotel in the South. I believe it's an intense one week instructional on grilling basics, from appetizers to desserts. His show is filmed there, as well as two other locations out West. His instructions are clear and easy to understand, demonstrations precise, and the recipes are inventive and original.

Over Labor Day weekend the local PBS station did a "farewell to summer" special featuring all of his shows back to back. I never left the room. Even the village idiot could produce a decent meal from watching those programs, I just love the guy!
