    Sweet Caramel Frosting

    1/2 c. butter
1 c. packed brown sugar (light brown)
    pinch salt (about 1/4 tsp.)
    6 tbsp. milk
    3 c. confectioner's sugar

Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and salt. Bring to a boil, and boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add milk, stirring all the time. Return to heat and bring to boil again. Remove from heat and allow to cool until lukewarm. (about 20-25 minutes) Stir in confectioner's sugar and beat until smooth and cool enough to spread. You may add a few drops of milk if the frosting is too stiff.

Old-fashioned Southern goodness on a white cake! (or any kind you think would be perfect!) Enjoy!

I think this would be good on ANYTHING at all and could probably improve some things that weren't so great to start out with.....

Allright! I love pound cake, so next time I make it, Sweet Caramel icing will be on the top! Usaully I just whip up some plain icing, and add some lemon flavour. But this will taste good too.

I am using this frosting tomorrow for a July 4th dessert. Just making a plain white layer cake. Considered making the cake part of it, caramel, too. Maybe I will.....
