scrubbed my grandmothers aluminum cookie sheets with heavy duty scrubby pads , now they are oxidizing. Is there a secret home fix for this or do I just have to deal with it ?

K. Slink set me straight on this one. Put them in a garbage bag with paper towels soaked in ammonia seal tight as the fumes are strong. Next day everything turned to slime and washed off. I have to do mine again probably a couple more times to get them shiny. Now I use parchment paper each and every time.
DO NOT put them in a self cleaning oven, they will melt.
Glad to hear it worked out for you, I'm about to tackle another bunch of stuff from this bachelor roomies home, just in time for the spring cleaning...AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!
Sounds like a great challenge. Keep us posted on what works the best. Interested in all natural VS the chemical world. I first tried the environment stuff about 20 yrs ago and it was like working with water. Newer stuff does a better job.
About time that the industry caught up with the rest of us, huh? That only took 20 or 30 years!
Try visiting my place--the storage area for every single thing made since 1962. My roommate is a hoarder extraordinaire.....HELP!!!!!
I'm sure that's his intention--tag sales, flea markets, etc...have to make some money from it somewhere....
