I have heard that drinking carrot juice is good for this. You mix it with a little apple juice, and it is like an old time "spring tonic". Drink nothing but that for a whole weekend. It is supposed to refresh your body, and rid you of the toxins that build up over time.
If you have a juicer, chop the root ends and tips from 2 lb organic carrots and put them through the juicer with 5 green apples and 2 tbsp. fresh parsley tops. Serve over cracked ice. If you prefer a little sweetness, add a tablespoon of honey. Use right away.
A very good spring tonic!

Detox is in many forms. From what goes in your mouth. Dry brushing your skin. Using a loofah in shower. Soaking in a tub with Epsom salts. ionized treatments etc.
A simple oral one I use is lemon juice in a glass of water first thing in the morning. It gives your liver a kick start to flushing toxins out of you. I also take psyllium capsules. Juice tonics help. Eating the actual fruit is better. The fruit also helps your liver in the breakdown. When your liver isn't fighting the poisons in your body it actually gets to do it's real job of keeping your body alkiline. That's when the liver releases fat and you lose weight and gain energy. The thing I found out recently was that you liver controls your body fat levels and will not release any until it gets new fat. That's why eating the healthy oils will help you lose weight. It is replacing the bad stuff.
Thanks everyone,
I am thinking of doing a herbal one.
No Sugar, Sugar substitutes, gluten, starches ,dairy & meat.
So really I may turn into a vegetarian for 12 days!

If you've never done this before you need to do some research.

Those that have been there are always your best resource!
It is not my intention to be either offensive or judgmental. I just find this concern about 'toxins' to be personally annoying and based on nothing more than myth and hysteria.
Your gut is a chemistry set, it breaks down food to a molecular level, uses what it can and disposes of the rest. All detox does is get rid of the beneficial bacteria that aids the whole process.
Eat good food, get a good balance, get some exercise, sleep well and have some fun. Your gut has evolved to the point that it will not let much bad stuff by unless you are not properly nourished in the first place. So eat well!
