Plan your menu carefully. Think of every ingredient you will need. Nothing like getting in the middle of prepping to realize you didn't think of oil or butter or shortning for the pan, or basics like salt/pepper/flour/sugar/coffee. Yep I have done it! Now I keep a camping diary. I note things in it like stuff I forgot and need to add next time or a campground we like or dont like and why. We always tour the campground to see if there is a spot we like better for next time. I always check my diary before stocking for the next trip and edit my lists accordingly.

There is no better advice than writing things down. It makes it so much easier and takes a load off your mind because you are not forced to remember small details that can turn into HUGE details if you are in need of them. Thanks for reminding me to do this, SimplySusie!

My camping buddy had a master list that he would make photo copies of and refer to it constantly while packing up the truck, one that he had developed over the years. What a lifesaver it was!

Grapefruit juice makes a nice frozen slush frozen right in the plastic bottle. We often pack it in the cooler to help keep things cold.
