    Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day is coming up. Does anybody have any really romantic ideas? If you have seen Mario Batali, you know what a romantic he is. The most wonderful thing I ever heard him come up with was rose petals fried in a sweet champagne batter. Magic!

And I thought my key lime pie with warm mango rum sauce was special. I also like a molten chocolate lava cake.

Hahaha! He is a master indeed! I think your key lime pie sounds GREAT, though. It is like giving your beloved a little trip to the tropics for a few minutes while they savor the tastes of summer days and sunshine. And, btw, who doesn't love chocolate? You can't go wrong there!

I have never made one of those, but keep hearing rave reviews about them. Are they easy enough to make?

One simple secret to those little cakes is that you pop a small ball of ganache into the middle before you bake them--voila!!!

I ran across this recipe today, and I thought some of you might think this would be a great Valentine's gift for your family or husband/significant other.

    OREO TRUFFLES

    1 pkg. Oreo Cookies, crushed
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 lb. white baking chocolate, melted

In large bowl combine crushed cookies and cream cheese. Beat with mixer on low until well blended. Form 1 in. balls by hand, and dip in melted chocolate. Place on baking sheet that is lined with waxed paper. Chill 1 hr. or til firm. To store, cover and refrigerate. Makes 50 candies. Beautiful!
