    The Victory Garden

Anyone remember a public TV show called The Victory Garden? I used to watch years ago when the host was Roger Swain. Half hour show. It was about gardening, diff methods, diff vegetables and uses. It was quite good I think.
Every show had a segment with Chef Marion. She would whip up the shows featured vegetables and fruits into quick fantastic looking midday lunches usually. With equipment, seasonings etc. that any run of the mill kitchen would have.

Now there was a show with a ton of information. First time I ever saw anyone shovel snow, then straw and get fresh veggies. Amazing. I noticed that HGTV never has any gardening shows. It' all renos and landscaping. Really miss the gardening.

I know what you mean about HGTV--the "G" has disappeared! The Victory Garden is alive and well through WGBH out of Boston...

Thanks! I'll see if I get that station. Tuesday 10am. Sounds like a good time for a hot chocolate doesn't it?

Love this show. It is so filled with knowledge, so pleasant to pass the time with, and gives you lots of ideas about doable projects.
