Does anyone have a recipe for green beans that they would like to share? I have a pound of fresh green beans to cook for Thanksgiving and I would like to do something besides the same old casserole....

Boy, does that ever bring me back to Grandma's way of cooking them, we loved it! Something I saw on ATK this past weekend was roasting them--drizzle with olive oil, add some sliced red onions, S&P, for about 15 minutes. Then add a balsamic vinaigrette, roast for another 15 minutes. Done. It makes old green beans taste like new. Don't add the vinaigrette at the beginning or it will burn, put it in halfway through.

I cook mine with butter,salt and onions

i like to use some "juise" or drippings from a ham that i've baked, add some onions sauteed in a generous amount of butter and add salt and pepper. people rave!
