6 large all purpose potatoes, peeled and quartered
2/3 c. milk
5 T. butter
1 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1 c. heavy cream
3/4 c. grated cheddar cheese
Cook potatoes 'til tender, drain.
In same pot, warm milk. Add butter, S&P, and potatoes, whip 'til smooth.
Butter a 3 qt. baking dish, fill with potatoes
Beat heavy cream 'til soft peaks form, spread over potatoes, sprinkle cheese.
350 degree oven about 45 minutes
People nearly faint when I make these, especially if I use all heavy cream instead of the milk. Bacon and scallion go really well here, too![]()
