    Potatoes chantilly

6 large all purpose potatoes, peeled and quartered
    2/3 c. milk
    5 T. butter
    1 t. salt
    1/2 t. pepper
    1 c. heavy cream
    3/4 c. grated cheddar cheese

    Cook potatoes 'til tender, drain.
In same pot, warm milk. Add butter, S&P, and potatoes, whip 'til smooth.
Butter a 3 qt. baking dish, fill with potatoes
Beat heavy cream 'til soft peaks form, spread over potatoes, sprinkle cheese.
350 degree oven about 45 minutes
People nearly faint when I make these, especially if I use all heavy cream instead of the milk. Bacon and scallion go really well here, too

Oh yeah, I'm tempted to just take the whole dish to my room and hide out with it....
