Thread: Helo!!

    Helo!!

    I found the following recipe on Cooks.com and I messed up on the no stirring. What will happen if I stirred?
    Help!!!

    EASY MACARONI AND CHEESE

    2 1/2 c. uncooked macaroni
    1 (13 oz.) pkg. Cracker Barrel sharp Cheddar grated cheese
    3 tbsp. butter
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1 qt. milk


    Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter in casserole in oven. Remove and add macaroni, stir well to coat macaroni. Add salt and pepper and grated cheese. Mix well. Pour milk over top. DO NOT STIR! Do not stir during baking. Place in 350°F oven and bake one hour.

    After reviewing about 10 other recipes I don't think you did any damage. If you stirred during cooking you probably didn't get a crusty top that would form with the cheese and milk. All other recipes stirred before cooking but not during. Next time try adding a finely chopped onion or or red pepper or some spices for more flavour. I always add a tablespoon of ketchup. That's the great thing about mac and cheese you can do a lot with it. Slices of hot dog or sausage?
