    Flank Steak Dervish

All-Time Best Marinade!! Another favorite from when I was growing up.

Trim all the fat from a 2 to 2½-inch flank steak and score it against the grain on both sides with a sharp knife.

Place in a shallow ovenproof pan & pour over it a mixture of:

    ½ cup soy sauce
    2½ Tb brown sugar
    2 Tb lemon juice
    1 Tb ground ginger and
    ½ t. garlic salt

Chill in marinade overnight, turning in the morning. Drain and broil 3 to 4 inches from the flame, five minutes each side for rare beef. Carve diagonally across the grain into thin slices.

Can also be grilled, of course. Even better.

I love grilled flank steak! Thanks for sharing your recipe, eclectic - it looks like a keeper.

I do something similar as a marinade for many types of meat - I often use a little wine vinegar, a few cloves of crushed garlic and some herbs.
