I have a recipe for Ginger salmon and it calls for sesame oil!
I have looked in all the grocery stores around my area but can not find it!
Is it alright if I just use pllain olive or vegtable oil?![]()

Sure, it shouldn't make too much of a difference!

If it's an Asian style recipe and calls for a relatively small quantity of the oil, it probably means toasted sesame oil. You might try looking in the Asian aisle when next you shop; toasted sesame oil is usually available in small bottles near the soya sauce and Asian vinegars. It's brown in color, is pressed from toasted seeds and has a very strong flavor- just a few drops can add wonderful flavor to a dish.
For regular (non-toasted) sesame oil you could try a health food store. This oil is great for salad dressings!

What a great idea about salad dressing!
I am not a big Sauce person but I do like balsamic vinegar on my salad and now thanks to you I like sesame oil too!

Thanks Cassie-Jane.
My favorite simplest salad dressing is to toss the greens with a little sesame oil and sprinkle with Vegit, also available at most health food stores. It's made with herbs, spices and a special kind of yeast. Really great on popcorn instead of salt, too!
Thank for more great tips!
I am what you would call a bit of a picky eater. My whole family calls me a" Health Freek" ( I am not that bad)
I am not a big candy/sweets eater!!
