A 20 pound turkey should cost no more than about $10... and will feed about 15 people....if you bought 15 turkeys, then had a contest for who can make the BEST STUFFING and MASHED POTATOES for the local community and made up some nice Certificates of Appreciation for those who participate, THINK of how inexpensive that would be!! Maybe a local market would provide the jellied cranberry sauce......and maybe a 20 pound sack of carrots??? You've got a meal! Turkey is easily digested and low fat! Have a Pumpkin Pie Contest as well......those Certificates of Appreciation should go out to everyone who donates their loving food! Get the community involved in your contests!! Wishing you the best of good luck and blessings for wanting to feed our Veterans!

Thanks Cassie-Jane. I might add 1/2 cup of pecans to this. It's great to have recipes with dried cranberries since we can only get fresh ones at a certain time of the year. I always buy 3 or 4 bags to last until the next season.
