    Hi rebba and welcome!

What kind of syrup? A simple sugar syrup (half water/half sugar) that has been boiled? Karo corn syrup? Maple syrup? Chocolate syrup?

Generally, a commercial syrup that's heavy in consistency will last for some time, but once maple syrup has been opened it's best to refrigerate because mold can form at the top when the air reaches a container that isn't 100% filled.

    Karo syrup rarely spoils.

Simple syrup that has been boiled can be poured while still boiling into hot canning jars and turned over until cooled and will keep for at least 1 month without refrigeration. The heavier the syrup (a higher sugar to water ratio), the better it will keep.
