This is my Grandpa's recipe for beer boiled shrimp. He has made this recipe for longer than I have been alive, and I just absolutely love this recipe. Simple easy and very tasty!!

Grandpa's Beer Boiled Shrimp

Ingredients
? pounds of raw, uncooked shrimp
1 bottle of beer per pound of shrimp PLUS 1 bottle for the pot
1 Tbsp/lb Old Bay Seasoning
1 Tbsp/lb Pepper
1Tbsp/lb Celery Seed
1 Tbsp/lb Salt
6 peppercorns/lb
3 dashes Louisiana Hot Sauce/lb (optional)

Directions

Bring Beer and all seasonings to a boil. Toss the shrimp in and bring back to a boil. Once back to a boil time for 3 minutes. No more no less. Take off hot burner and put ice into the pot to stop the cooking. Drain beer off but DO NOT rinse the shrimp. Serve with cocktail sauce if desired.

This recipe is awesome!! You can serve the shrimp hot, room temp, or cold. I prefer to use the easy peel shrimp that are already slit and deveined, but this recipe works for any type. The cook time is fine if the shrimp are frozen or thawed...same cook time regardless.
