    Too spicy!

A friend of mine (really) made a shrimp dish kind of like fra diavolo which turned out WAY too hot and I need a "trick" to use to cool it down so a person can actually eat it..... can anyone help me?

Make a second batch and leave the spices out, then combine the two and it will be only half as spicy.

If only half as spicy isn't good enough, then divide it into portions, store it in the freezer and add a portion to other dishes (like pasta sauces) that you prepare, using the "hot" shrimp as seasoning.

Thinning it out with a cream sauce or a potato based sauce can sometimes help, too, but it really depends upon how over-seasoned it is. As a last resort, you can wash off the shrimp and make a new sauce for it, sans seasonings that were too hot.

You may just put 1/2 the spices in!
I will do that with chilli-I am not a big fan of spices!

In general, if a dish is too highly-spiced with hot pepper, you can lower the heat by swirling around some black olives, then discarding them. The capsicum oils are powerfully attracted to black olives.

    A good trick to know.
