Extending the Table....A World Community Cookbook

If you are interested in learning about other countries and international cuisine, this cookbook is wonderful! With detailed recipes as well as stories from other countries, this cookbook is almost as much fun reading as it is cooking out of. I especially like the way the recipes are sorted in the back by countries....the other evening I wanted to make a Middle Eastern meal, but had no idea what dishes complement each other or where to start. I turned to Extending the Table, and found recipes for hummus and more under the geographical index, and got a pretty good idea how to make an authentic Middle Eastern meal.
It's not a cookbook for basic American cooking(although some cultural American recipes are included as well), but if you're interested in something out of the ordinary I think you'll enjoy it.

Yes, you can get it on amazon.com (that's where I got mine). KarenB, it's the one by Joetta Handrich Schlabach, NOT the one about serving communion:-). Not sure if that's what you were referring to or not. There is another similar cookbook also listed, called "More-With-Less", although for international cooking I prefer "Extending The Table". Just type the title into Amazon.com to find it.
