Marinating beef and chicken

I am making fajitas. Can I marinate the beef steak and the chicken breasts together? I am thinking no but since they are both raw meat it would be really convenient. Anyone out there have any thoughts on this? gaileybird

    The beef and chicken should be marinated separately. The ingredients are different for each to bring out their unique texture and flavours. To save time you can chose a base marinade and then custom each with spices and herbs that compliment each dish.

    Good answer but the major point is missed, Marinate them separately cause raw chicken will contaminate your beef, and unless you will be cooking the beef so it is well done, you could make yourself seriously ill, I myself prefer nice medium-rare beef in my fajitas.

    Thanks for input. I did marinate them separately; cooked both on my grill and were wonderful;
